SERVICES OFFERED
Behavior coaching
Behavior coaching sessions are conducted by Applied Behavior Analysts to target specific behaviors and skills. These are conducted typically for one hour at a time for caregivers (without the child present), using an approach that’s tailored to your child’s specific needs.
The coaching sessions provide parenting strategies and reinforcement systems that are effective in shaping your child's negative behaviors and encouraging positive and calm parenting.
The goal of our therapy services is to promote the highest level of independence and success for your child at home, school, and in the community through fun and meaningful activities!
Applied behavioral analysis (ABA) provides behavior plans and intervention to improve social, communication, and learning skills through positive reinforcement.
Our sensory and social programs provide children of similar-aged peer groups instruction and opportunities to learn and practice skills needed to have successful interactions with peers. These skills may include: self control, listening skills, developing peer connections and functional skills needed to participate in group learning. Our programs are taught by occupational therapists or ABA therapists and are conducted in small ratios (1:3) to encourage optimal participation.
Group sessions aimed to teach handwriting skills, such as letter formation, spacing consistency, letter placement, line regard, as well as organizational skills that affect writing (producing thoughts onto paper). Instruction is based on the Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum and delivered through hands-on, & multi-sensory approach to learning.
Handwriting programs focus on teaching legibility, spacing, sentence structure and organizational skills to encourage ability to put thoughts onto paper. Taught by licensed occupational therapists trained in Handwriting Without Tears Program.
Sensory processing is the foundation of all learning. It is the ability to take in cues from within our body and from the environment, process them accurately, and create an appropriate response. Sensory processing involves monitoring and controlling one's own feelings, emotions and behavior.
Researchers suggest that emotional intelligence (EQ) is as important (if not more!) than IQ. Our evidence-based social programs teach mind and body awareness to increase self-management, ability to identify, verbalize and manage their own feelings, and effectively connect with peers in social interactions.
Learning appropriate behaviors can be difficult for some children. We offer individual services, parent coaching, and group services to teach skills, such as self control, listening skills, managing emotions and working with others.
